What is the best way to test run my rebuilt engine in my garage before reinstalling it in the boat (or should I)? The engine is sitting in a fabricated cradle made of 4x4s (i.e., fence posts). I would like to know the motor runs well prior to remounting it in the cramped engine compartment. Is this a reasonable thing to do? If so, how is it done safely? Does Moyer's manual address this issue? I would like to avoid burning down my garage.
