Subject:   Oil pressure and temperature sending units

Message Posted

Hello all,

The original oil pressure guage (1960) is kaput, so I ordered a new guage and sending unit from Moyer. The problem is that the original setup doesn't use a sending unit, it uses the skinny copper tube to connect the guage in the cockpit to the engine block, and this location (portside, all the way forward) is too close to the flywheel housing to allow the new engine-mounted sending unit to thread into the block. Is there another location to tap for pressure, or do I need to hunt down some sort of extension/adapter?

While spending money on UPS, I thought to order a temp guage and sender. The original installation didn't include a temperature guage, so if anyone can tip me to where this sending unit should go, I'd appreciate it.

-Thanks
