Have an Atomic 4 engine from around 1971 in and Islander 30'. Engine ran fine until returning from a trip. We'd been sailing most of the weekend with the engine running very little. Upon returning to the Marina Engine started but died only a couple seconds later. Upon further inspection it was noticed that the number 3 cylinder had filled with water and stalled the engine. There is good compression in all four cyclinders and no apparent blockage in the raw water heat exchanger outlet. When the engine is allowed to dry out it seems to starts easily enough, however when the cooling saltwater inlet valve is opened the 3rd cyclinder immediately fills with water and stalls the engine. What could cause this? Anyhelp suggestions would be appreciated. Dave
