If it runs well and starts easily it does not sound like the usual problems. The mention of a new fuel tank makes me wonder if there may be a problem with the tank vent, either plugged or missing. The engine will start easily and run for a while but eventually a vacuum will build up in the tank and starve the engine. An easy way to check would be to try running with the fuel fill cap open and see if it keeps running.
