I just bought a Newport 27 w/Atomic 4. I am trying to find out what RPM range one should operate the engine at. I do not have a tach but plan to put one on. Also, what temperature range should it run at. We were running ours pretty fast and temp was over 200.
Another thing i noticed is that the engine will 'pop-out-of gear' when you try to go faster/full throttle. I was told this is a sort of safety thing that A4s have but i have never heard of this.
And does anyone have any ideas how to get more speed out of the engine. It seems i barely do 5knots when its flat out and then it pops out of gear and i have to throtle back and let it re-engage.
any info/advice would be great!!
