Greetings -
I have an Erickson 29 on Lake Pend Orielle in North Idaho. Gets very cold in the winter. Had the A-4 rebuilt couple of years ago and have used 30 W oil. I change the oil each spring and fall. A guy told me to run 10-30 in the winter because the 30 was too thick on a cold day start - so I did. All the stuff I've found in the web says 30. Should I pull the 10-30 and go back to strait 30? Does the transmission and engine oil combo have something to do with this?
Also, I've read that I should change the impeller every Spring. Never done it. Where can I get one? Also, how often should I change fuel filter? I have a spare but have never replaced. I've pulled and it looks fine and have never had a problem.
I've had the boat for 4 years and my appreciation for the motor grows with each. I love my boat ... I love my motor.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Kim Woodruff
