You have a much larger boat than I do. I have a Pearson Coaster, 30 ft, 10,000 lbs. If I want hull speed I work the throttle up to a point that it maintains max speed then back off a little. More throttle only builds more cylinder pressure, which this little A-4 does not like, and does not get me any more speed. This probably does not apply to you as you might not have enough power to go as fast as you boat is capable. How is your temp, sounds like it could be a heat problem which could be related to max throttle or the water jacket getting filled up or both. Sounds like you are doing all the right things maintenance wise.
