I concur with John about having the primary filter before the pump for the reasons he stated.
It is also a great idea to have a "polishing filter" just before the carburetor as it helps to dramatically reduce the chance of small dirt particles getting into the carburetor and clogging the main jet.
There is one thing that is not an option but a Coast Guard requirement, that is the oil pressure safety switch.
The reason the safety switch is required is to avoid the possibility of the fuel pump accidently pumping fuel into the bilge if iginiton switch is accidently left on without the engine running.
Accidently leaving the ingition on happens quite frequently, ask people who have burnt out coils and points by doing so.
Also, I think approved CG fuel hose is the way to go.
