Subject:   A-4 re-commission

Message Posted

I just acquired a Tartan 34C with the A4 which hasn't been started in 5 years. The previous owner indicates he saturated the engine with two cycle oil to preserve things. I pulled the plugs and turned it over freely by hand. Questions: Other than draining and blowing out the two cycle oil and using proper oil in the base, is there anything recommended to do before attempting starting? Also, how likely is it that I will have stuck valves and/or lifters? Thanks!
