I'm not the best guy to address this but:

Isn't it sort of possible to have "too big" a battery? By that, I mean (in practical terms) a battery bank too large to be fully charged by the alternator during a normal engine duty cycle. If someone was to get in the habit of making full use of a very large battery bank without having the capacity to return the bank to full charge, couldn't this lead to problems?

I bring this up because of the limited charging capacity of the typical A-4 alternator.
