The started on my A4 got smoked a year ago. the price of one from moyer was to high i thought so i looked a starters at a friend of mines auto parts store i came up with taking the nose cone off of my starter and putting it on a 64 chevy chevelle with a 283 starter motor i had to take the c clip off of the end of the shaft but leave the pinon stop washer on the shaft after puting the starter to gether the shaft poked out of the nose cone 3/8" . i cut that off with a hack saw. it still to this day works great. capt.
