While the Atomic 4 reversing gear engages in forward positively, it does not do the same for reverse. This can be a problem when you try to shift out of gear from reverse. You may find the clutch slipping but still turning the prop slowly either forward or reverse. Unless you can develop a "feel" for it, I have found that the best way to get out of reverse positively is to shift to forward and then quickly out of gear.
