I just bought a Columbia 8.3 that has not been used in 7 years. The sole plate had water over it about 6" from Isadore and it appears that it commonly had fresh water in the cabin. Companionway hatch leaks. Rebuilding hatch at present. Question-- suggestions on the initial crank up of this long dormant A 4? The oil is milky and I will drain and replace. I will crank with the plugs out and the seacock closed for cooling water to circulate new oil and change again before trying to get it to fire. I will clean carburetor bowl, drain fuel tank and replace fuel filter. Any other suggestions from A 4 owners? I used Mystery oil on a Volvo I once had that had a leaky head gasket that contaminated the oil. It supposedly has some thereputic value for such situations. Any thoughts or suggestions. This motor ran on ether 4 years ago and is a very low hour engine. In the Florida panhendle with my fingers crossed.
