I am reinstalling my alternator(internal regulator). It has an odd device inline to the coil that looks like a large block of liquorice, made of rubber, however. It is made by NARTRON. Anyone know what it does? I have had various opinions. 1. Radio interference suppression.2. High charge spike protection.3.Fuselink.4. Oneway resistor to prevent battery discharge over long periods. HELP!!!!!thanks.
