Don, thanks for the input, I appreciate it. As you say, oil flows down. When I pull the motor in the spring I plan to examine the rear of the engine and reverse gear case closely. I'm sure it's possible but I doubt that my oil pan or revers gear housing has rusted through. I hope to find a bad seal at the rear output shaft. Again, thanks and good luck with your rebuild.
