I am looking to buy a fresh-water cooling system but ran into this page: http://www.boatfix.com/freshkits.asp
Listen to the flash guy talking at the top. He says that you shouldn't add a fresh water cooling system to an engine that was raw-water cooled because the salt deposits in the engine and the anti-freeze will react. What do you guys think of that? Has anyone had the conversion for a long period of time without any problems?
Also, has anyone made a fresh-water cooling system themselves on the cheap--i.e. buying the components and putting something together themselves, rather than using indigo or moyer? If anyone has done this, I'd be interested to hear. Thanks a bunch.
