Dear Charles: Usually the stuck starter is one with the bushings worn out but with the switch on and the starter button pressed, rap top of starter with hammer or like object, try not to break anything including things that hurt. If it works then maybe yours was just stuck, but if this becomes a regular routine, get it out and drop it by your local starter generator shop for a rebuild before this thing strands you. Rememer, remove the battery cable before wrenching the bolts on the solonoid, less fire works and burnt fingers! Make you a diagram of your wiring connections as you go, after removing the wiring you've only got two bolts holding it on and she slides right out.
