No problem. use the boom. Attach the halyard at the lift point, not the end of the mast. when the engine is clear and you start to swing it the boat will lean and the engine is doing laps around the mast. tie the boom off to something on each side of the boat to control the boom and ease it over to the dock then lower it with the block and tackle on the bottom of the boom. People do it all the time. I did mine the easy way. It was dry and the ladder was an 8 ft climb. I took it apart in the boat and carried the parts down the ladder. I then overhauled it and put in the valves cam and lifters and adjusted the valves. painted everything and assembled it in the boat. painted it again and installed. The block is less than a hundred pounds and I carried it up the ladder no problem.
Will
