I've had the same when cyliner 4's valves are stuck open. Engine runs pretty nicely with no load, but when you load it up in gear it really struggles to keep any rpm's.
Check compression, or just run it for a while and pull all the plugs. You'll be able to tell if one of the plugs wasn't firing due to no compression.
