I own a 1976 atomic 4, s/n 176509, in a catalina 27 sailboat.
my problem is this.
Its starts fine, runs fine for 15-20 minutes, and loses power, severely.
temp and oil press. is fine, is very hard to restart, idles fine, then, as soon as I engage, it cuts out, dead as a doorknob.will crank all day, nada...
that being said, if I let her cool down for 20-30 minutes, it'll fire right up and be fine for 15 20 minutes again...
clean fuel, good fuel supply. not overheating, good cooling flow.
I'm thinking vapor lock....It's about 95F here in the summer, so maybe?
any other clues?
