The A4 starter draws about 100AMPS when cranking.
That's a strong load. If your batteries are sulfited, they will show good voltage (12.5+) at reast but drop quickly when a load is applied since you're seeing a "surface voltage" with the battery at rest.
Try a new battery or a HUGE jump starter capable of 150AMPS.
Also, check for corroded connections, they'll show good contact & voltage but be unable to deliver current to your coil to get good spark.
