Sorry I can't help you wish a spare unit, but I can give you a piece of advice -- buy a new one! Your v-drive isn't an accessory like a TV. It is the link between your engine and propeller. . . without a functioning v-drive you are stuck. I've had 3 Carvers with Walters units and they worked great and never gave me trouble. My son talked me into "downsizing" my boat and I bought a small runabout with a sterndrive -- what a mistake! Every year it costs me $400 to winterterize properly and I just like the idea of having my drive sitting out in the water. Instead of buying a spare, buy a new v-drive and you'll be set for the next 20 years !

Phil
