I took my atomic-4 block with head, manifold, starter, alternator, transmission removed to local shop that specializes atomic-4 overhauls for new rings and a valve job, but I did not note piston numbers and their relative placements.
I paid for work and brought engine home for reassembly'
I notice that the pistons are arranged with number 4 by the flywheel and 3-2-1 towards the transmission.
The arrows are pointing towards the tranmission as they should, but according to the manual piston 1 should be by the flywheel.
Should I force the shop to remove the pistons and replace them in the correct order?
Is there any harm in leaving them as is?
