My atomic 4 has been remarkably reliable. However, it does eat a quart of oil in about 5 hours of running, and there is enough blow-by that I require a fan to exhause the engine compartment directly to the outside. I keep getting the urge to rebuild the engine. The worst of it, I want to do the work myself. I would enjoy doing it, and would hook up with a machine shop to do all the machining ect. From reading re-build manuals, the actual work does not seem that complicated. Am I deceived? Is the work actually complicated than it sounds in manuals? I cannot decide whether I should do it or just let the darn engine run for a few more years. Any comments?
