Water flow is possibly restricted at thermostat or any pipe fitting particularly black iron. Or gears in pump which are bronze, not brass, may be worn, often due to sand or gritty water entering the system. The rubber impeller pushes a larger volume of water through the system as long as it has free flow. These two pumps are interchangeable.
