Delco starters are pretty much all alike until you get to the drive housing, if your drive housing is not broken, replace front bushing avaibile at your favorite parts store, buy a starter for a1970 Chevrolet Nova 4cyl, use the windings, case and all, armature if needed and use your old front housing and wa-la, new starter. The windings and armature rarely are really bad,the bushings ware out letting the armature drag on the windings till they just want turn any more, or the brushes wear out. Its really not a bad or hard job, if you can get it off the block theres usually always a starter repair shop around someplace close that can do this for you at a reasonable cost.It really doesn't require an expert, even the solinoid is the same, be sure and use the new one these are a source of the problems quite often.
